WILD SWEET ORANGE
WE HAVE CAUSE TO BE UNEASY [RED INK] - JULY 29, 2008

Descending from Birmingham, Wild Sweet Orange has created a piece of art relevant for all ages and preferences. We Have Cause to be Uneasy is a collection of artful songs that leaves you wanting more.

The beginning of the album starts out in up tempo beats with catchy choruses of stories that seem to be shared through their words. Songs such as the first, “Ten Dead Dogs,” show their individualistic, edgy compilations. Just when you think you know what Wild Sweet Orange is all about, a shift begins to occur with the song, “Sour Milk," which is much slower, and emotionally charged. It also has been stuck in my head for days. This song starts the metamorphosis of change towards more thought-provoking and insightful works. The overlying theme is about honesty, hurt and truth, but done in a tasteful and non-annoying way. In fact, it was done very well.

The words and ideas shared throughout this album seamlessly fall together. The flow makes it easy for the listener to get lost in the album. The next thing you know, it is over and you have no idea what just happened to the last hour of your life. Their sound and use of instruments are both unique and smart.

It is obvious to me that these guys play because they love music and they play and create music for them, not for what they think we want to hear. Their music and lyrics seem unfiltered and golden. Wild Sweet Orange has a natural knack for talent and success and I think they have fully proved it with this album.
